![]() I have been doing drums sessions 5 days a week for the past 8 years and I have a particular workflow when it comes to that job. I know the software just fine, and I am certified. ![]() Wow, aren't you just a colostomy bag of an individual hiding behind the veil of the internet to try and posture a stance of dominance. Having said all of this, I fucking hate Logic and can't wait for the day when I never have to use it again. And Pro Tools I use only when I get hired to engineer at bigger studios. I'll use Logic when I get hired to mix or finish projects that have already been started in Logic. It will continue to get dumbed down.įor me, I use Cubase when I do my own music because it's my favorite. Just so you know, this is Logic's future. It's the same thing they did with Final Cut Pro years ago which is why a hug amount of pro video editors bailed and went to Adobe Premier. Apple is dumbing it down to make it more attractive to the Garageband crowd to entice them to upgrade making it like Garageband Pro. Logic X is worse, and less professional product than Logic 9 imo. And it, by far, gives you more stuff to start with, meaning plugins, virtual instruments, loops, etc. It is good for songwriting and getting ideas down and messing with sounds. I like tracking and mixing for the most part on it but it definitely has the most bugs, glitches, and program elements that just don't make any sense. at a music school that uses Logic) and a lot of the work I get outside is on it as well. I use it the most because of my job(I work for a recording prog. Logic: Makes me want to smash the computer constantly. PT I like tracking on but not mixing so much but I have an older version as well so some of the new features might help with that. In the past couple years they have finally started addressing these issues but not before a lot of professionals got tired of waiting and jumped ship and switched DAW's. Very limited track counts, no offline bouncing, etc. For a long time you either had to use a shitty Digidesign or M-Audio interface, or, pay $10,000 and up for an HD rig. Mainly because of how Avid refuses to listen to their customer base. A lot of people will be working on PT but it has become less and less the "standard" of the industry. PT: has always been to replace the tape machine, ADATs which is why it has always been a staple in big studios. It's used a lot in the composer world, post production for tv/film(Neundo more so for this one but they're almost the same), and for music obviously. I also like editing audio and midi more in Cubase. ![]() ![]() They've incorporated features long before the others, like comping(which Logic stole and the PT stole from Logic), It's own version of Melodyne built in(3 or 4 years before Logic did it), Unlimited track count(which Logic and PT still don't do). There are good and bad things about all of them.Ĭubase: just makes the most sense to me and is more intuitive as a whole. They're all just designed a little differently and will make more or less sense to you. Here's the deal though, they all do the same things and if you're good at what you do, then you can get professional results out of all of them. I know Cubase, Logic, and PT and i can tell you that I prefer Cubase over all of them. ![]()
